Feature #50
opencryptomattes don't work when stacking in 8bit
0%
Description
it would be nice if icarus would automatically switch to 32bit for any layer that has mask mode and crypto option enabled. at the moment i need to stack the whole document in 32bit and then have it converted to 8 bit in the end if i want to use cryptomatte even tho i would not need it to be 32bit for anything else.

What happen to crypto in 8 bit? What are the issues?
You shouldbe able to configure document before & after stack? Before 32, after 8?

the problem we are currently running into is that the stacking gets really slow at a certain point because we have quite large psbs and photoshop is struggling to handle a document like that in 32bit. or even fails sometimes because it can't convert the document to 8bit because it is to big.
it stacks 10x faster if we set it to 8bit and we don't do any 32bit operations anyway. but in 8bit cryptomattes seem to get ignored, it just opens the rgb channel but none of the actual matt channels.

sorry dariuz, i just figured out cryptomattes are working correctly in 8bit. photoshop had updated itself automatically on our stacking machine without me realizing, and the exr io plugin wasn't working anymore. so you can delete this ticket.

I don't mind having that control on mask mode tbh. I'll leave it for future backend feature then.

You should be able now to better control what/how with actions.
