Duplicating a Backdrop or Text Note doesn't produce a copy with same look

Description

when duplicating the new copy has the same settings as the source but they are not applied. the look (color, opacity, font size...) seem random and don't correspond to the settings until they are actively changed. also text isn't shown until changed.

I'm fairly sure I know what the problem is, sadly the fix for it might break existing backdrops/comments sigh... brace yourself. You may need to run 2 Toolboxes next to each other and copy over settings.
